Bio-fertilizer- answer to the China’s agriculture sustainable development
China is the
largest fertilizer producer and consumer in the world. However, the utilization
rate is still limited compared to other developed countries. It’s very urgent
to use the organic resources in China’s agricultural production. Bio-fertilizer
plays a vital role in improving the crop quality and ensuring the food safety,
therefore, the research and use of biological fertilizer has become a
breakthrough point for the green agriculture.
What Is Bio-fertilizer?
also called biological fertilizer and microbial fertilizer, can be used to
enhance the soil fertility, increase the plant disease and drought resistance, stimulate
and regulate crop growth by producing a variety of physiological active
substances, and reduce insect pests and the use of chemical fertilizers.
Therefore, it is
significant to the reuse of the wastes from farm crops, environmental
protection and the sustainable development of the agricultural industry.
Bio-fertilizer Development in China
biotechnology is developing rapidly in China thanks to the abundant biological
resources and the large market demand. It is reported
that there were more than 1,200 bio-fertilizer enterprises with an annual
production capacity of 15 million MT and the annual gross value of 2.5 billion
Yuan in 2017. According to the statistics, the bio-fertilizer is seeing a 10% annual
growth in the recent years.
China Bio-fertilizer Demand in 2011-2017
In 2017, the
domestic demand for bio-fertilizer is about 14.3 million tons, increasing by
17.53% from 12.2 million tons in 2016. China Bio-fertilizer Output in 2011-2017
bio-fertilizer output in 2016 is 12.88 million tons, increasing by 14.13% to 15 million tons in 2017. It can be estimated that the bio-fertilizer
will be the key to develop the national agricultural technology and the
cornerstone to maintain the food safety.
